In The Gay Wrestling Guide we want to give you some inspiration for your wrestling matches. In this article we are going to explain a match variation of submission wrestling.
Submission Escape Challenge
Before the match, you agree on a list of submissions that you will attempt during the match. Wrestler A starts by putting Wrestler B in a submission. Once Wrestler B is in the submission, a timer of 1 minute starts. If Wrestler B escapes the submission within 1 minute, Wrestler B earns 1 point. If Wrestler B fails to escape, Wrestler A gets 1 point. After 1 minute, the roles switch and Wrestler B puts Wrestler A in the submission, and they battle for 1 minute. They work through all the submissions on the list this way. At the end of all rounds, the wrestler with the most points wins.
Rules
- Standard submission rules
- Submission wrestling does not involve punches, kicks, or other strikes.
- Certain techniques, such as striking, eye-gouging, or spine locks, are prohibited to ensure safety.
- First make a list of submission holds that you want to include in the Challenge
- Determine an escape time ( 30 seconds / 1 minute / 3 minutes)
- Determine which wrestler starts applying the submission hold
- Alternate between applying and receiving the submission hold
- If you break out of the submission during the escape time you will be awarded 1 point, if you don’t break out during the escape time your opponent will be awarded 1 point
- The wrestler with the most amount of points at the end of the Challenge wins the Challenge
Variations
- You can allow grabbing the opponents clothes for grip
- You can add two escape times: if the wrestler breaks out in 30 seconds he gets 3 points, if he escapes in 1 minute he gets 1 point, if he does not escape in 1 minute the other wrestler will get 1 point.
